Winners
in our Hearts and in the Show Ring

Each
alpaca born on our ranch is carefully evaluated for temperament,
conformation and fleece. We make sure that each cria, once
weaned, is exposed to shows in order to assure an independent
evaluation of its quality.
By deliberately limiting our breedings to just two to five
each year, we are able to concentrate the love, attention,
training and resources on just a few crias. While this decision
will never make us one of the biggest farms, we know that
every alpaca on our place is given the hours of hands-on care
that produces winnersboth in our hearts and in the show
ring.

Estrellita
Rosa

Purchasing SRR's ESTRELLITA ROSA was the fulfillment of a
dream. Once we became involved in alpacas, it quickly became
our goal to have our own rose gray. Although not for sale
at the time, ESTRELLITA was owned by a neighboring ranch,
SUTHERLIN ROSE ALPACAS.
Estrellita has given us a variety of colors in her crias:
a beige, a bay black, and a rose gray male who may well turn
out to be as fine an animal as his famous sire, Aussie's Guns-n-Roses.
At the age of six, Estrellita is still winning many 1st and
2nd place ribbons in spin-off competitions across the nation.

Humming
Pines Calamity Jane

HUMMING PINES CALAMITY JANE, also known as CJ, was a stunner
from the time she hit the ground. Possessing the genes of
both EL PADRE on her sire's side and DANKO on her dam's side,
CJ won reserve color champion in her second show! Judges love
her fleece and have commented on its "nice loft",
the dense rich color; uniform texture and staple length; and
its bold, lovely crimp.
We have the highest hopes for her first cria which should
be born in the summer of 2010.

Lady Shellbi

LADY SHELLBI is out of PRECIOUS DE LA BOLIVIA and WVR'S SILVER
DEL FUEGO, a light silver gray. SHELLBI, a true black, was
the first alpaca born on our ranch and was a birthday gift
to Bill's sister, Pat, who resides on the ranch and helps
with all the care and training of the alpacas. SHELLBI, a
maiden, is both the clown of the herd as well as the one that
the weanlings cling to for reassurance. She'll be bred in
the summer of 2009.

Humming
Pines High Calibre

Humming Pines HIGH CALIBRE is the fulfillment
of a dream. The result of breeding our rose gray female, ESTRELLITA
ROSA (above), to 5X Champion AUSSI GUNS 'N' ROSES, this outstanding
male cria will be shown starting in the spring of 2010. He
already is exhibiting extremely bright fleece, which is uniform,
dense and at this point, without spots on his blanket. We
have high hopes of him becoming an outstanding herdsire like
his daddy.
